Guillaume grohe (1808-1885) napoleon III style chair. Guillaume grohe was born in winthersheim in the grand duchy of hesse-darmstadt on 9 february 1808.il came to paris with his brother jean-michel, and began as a cabinetmaker. In 1829, the two brothers created a trading house for the manufacture and sale of furniture and works of art, which took a rapid development since they were already noticed by their sending to the exposition des produits de l'industrie française of 1834.
