Rocking-chair formerly called "lullaby", art nouveau era - model n° 9 (then 809) created at the end of the nineteenth century by the firm jacob & josef kohn. Having very quickly distinguished itself from standard models, especially in competition with thonet, kohn's n°9 / 809, with its double scroll winding, has become an icon among viennese lullabies in curved wood of the belle epoque. Claude debussy, or the painter edouard vuillard owned one. (see the full illustrated history of the model on the muebledeviena.com blog of historian j. Vives chillida). It is precisely this model by kohn that the vitra design museum has chosen for its collection of miniature reproductions of the cult seats of viennese furniture. -- nice copy duly stamped; edition datable between 1902 and 1904 (also according to its dimensions). Very good condition of experience, wood remained healthy, robust assembly, original screws, cannage virgin of any snag - which is for this type of piece extremely rare. Ready to serve on a daily basis. -- height 105 cm in natural rocker position / 115 cm in horizontal seat position; seat 43 X 42 cm, width between the shoulders 47 cm. -- secure delivery all france, professional service with invoice. -- // my other lots of bistro chairs & furniture bentwood era tuna in baumann: click on the right on "see all the products of this seller".
