Walnut, botany, 1874 engraving

Unframed: Board of ancient Botany exquisite and unusual book, illustrated by W. H. Fitch & published in 1874. The print comes in two variants: 1) hand color. These prints vary in condition. Most of the plates are slightly yellowed and some dirty marks and a bit of a Tan. Some of the colorful impressions have stains of moisture which are more pronounced in the back than the front. Others have small holes from binding to the left and a few are slightly ragged left, while others are glued on a narrow strip of paper on the binding edge. Some have library embossed stamps. (2) black and white. These boards have interesting library brands that add to the character. "York Library" on the small purple stamp and "City Public York" on the stamp in relief. The two sets of impressions are blank on the back. Some pages have been printed with low or nil margins, like getting to the edge of the paper. They would need careful supervision.
