4 bistro chairs n°14 Horgen-Glarus Switzerland 20s

Set of 4 bistro chairs n°14 period 1915-1920 ca from the most important and former Swiss factory of curved wooden seats, horgen-glarus / glarus, founded at the end of the nineteenth century by emil baumann who shortly after also founded the French chair in Franche-Comté. These n °14 as we see are well proportioned, not too wide of seats as recommended at the time in the supply of bistros (saving space in the dining room and on the terrace), while keeping a beautiful amplitude of backrest, well violined, and especially equipped with side reinforcements, little more robustness in the cohesion with the seat. Original wood background with art nouveau floral decoration, two of which are faded by the use of a century. Label of the manufacture and stamp of the Glarus site under seat.
