François boisrond is a painter from fraçais, son of filmmakers michel boisrond and annette wademant. He studied at the école nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in paris where he met hervé di rosa who introduced him to robert combas and rémi blanchard. With these artists he will form what will be called the movement of "free figuration". François boisrond does not hide his admiration for poster artists such as villemot or savignac. From then on, he created many posters for cultural events or advertising campaigns. With hervé di rosa he made several trips and exhibitions in new york, tokyo and obtained with the latter a scholarship awarded by the villa medici in 1982 to stay six months in new york where they shared a workshop at ps1. In its early days, boisrond evolved in a figurative universe representing everyday life, urban landscapes, portraits and self-portraits in a refined and colorful way. His painting illustrates a closed and peaceful world where the small details of everyday reality abound. He revisits the canons of painting and subsequently, from a digital model, engages in a work of recomposition of the colored spectrum.
