Candlestick design Verner Panton 1973

Originally designed in 1973 as sitting stairs, a sculptural furniture seating object in the form of stairs which could be placed against the wall. The sitting stairs were reproduced later, by palette design, in a miniature version as “lighting stairs” now acting as candleholder with 4 steps. Lighting stairs are made of steel and count 4 steps, red, cyclamen, dark blue and light blue, mounted on a chromed steel bottom plate; each step has a cavity for a standard tealight on top of a loose disc in the same colour; 4 discs and 4 tealights are included in this listing. The disc in the cyclamen cube is slightly darker, more purple than cyclamen, but will never be seen when a tealight is on top of it. The underside of the bottom plate is covered with a thin foam layer of rubber preventing scratches. These lighting stairs are in a good vintage condition with hardly visible signs of use and age.
