Pair of rattan armchairs, circa 1960

Pair of rattan armchairs, adult, work around 1960. Low armchairs of the basket type, with massive bamboo structure and decoration of braces on the back and sides. The seat consists of thick and straight double strands, giving the whole a sturdy and solid hold. This model is typical of the time, with its honey color that opens your arms. Classic of a bohemian inspired decoration, the armchair is a strong and warm room. Its history dates back to periods of interest in the extra-western decorative arts: rattan furniture then invaded bourgeois winter gardens, for its chic and light side, often associated with fabrics and linens in light tones. Here were added two round cushions of seats, of different color (a cream and a pearl gray). The whole is in very good condition, some wear of time to report, a strand in broken cross (but it will not go further because the whole is very solid), wear and stains on the feet. 76 X 75 X 58 cm.
