Description
Fabulous antique pot hide-and-seek in Chinese cloisonné, made towards the end of the 19th century. It is made of dark bronze with a colorful décor of abstract shapes and a dragon. It is in good condition, a place where the colored enamel shows a little wear. Dimensions: 20 centimeters high, ø 22 centimeters. Cloisonné is a technique where thin copper wires are used to make shapes on a copper or bronze base. Then the enamel is applied to fill the pattern on the base. This technique has been used for centuries in China and Japan and is still used today. The result is a very complex and colorful decoration. The images used are often flowers, animals and figures from Chinese or Japanese mythology.
