Portrait "Chabert des Nots-Tollet"

The artist who created this work is the painter, Marie-Louise Chabert des Nots-Tollet (1892-1979). This is a painter from Lyon who has mainly created portraits and still lifes. Immersed in the world of painting from an early age, she was a pupil of her father, the great painter Lyonnais (himself trained by Jean-Baptiste Danguin, Michel Dumas, Albert Maignan and Alexandre Cabanel), the famous Jean Jules Antoine Tollet, known as Tony Tollet (1857-1953). The latter also had prestigious students such as Jean Puy (1876-1960) for example. It should also be noted that she was a member of the Lyon artists and a member of the Salon des Artists Français, where she obtained an honourable mention in 1932.Painting (oil on panel), dating from the 1930s, signed "Chabert des Nots-Tollet". She painted one of her friends during a painting session; It should be noted that she has a good coastline and that her works are rather rare on the market.
