It is characterized by its thick wool in ecru tones and by its geometric patterns in the shape of a diamond, often black or brown. However, they are now found with brightly colored patterns. Originally, the Beni Ouarain carpet is also characterized by its very large size. Indeed, the Beni Ouarain tribe comes from the Middle Atlas, so it is subject to a harsh climate. The carpets served as mattresses and blankets, we wrapped ourselves in them to sleep and protect ourselves from the cold. The Berber carpet Beni Ouarain is handmade, by hand on a loom. Wool threads are knotted one after the other, which requires a very long realization time, which can range from several days to several months depending on its size.
