Exceptional FISCHEL bentwood living room, composed of a bench, a pair of armchairs and two chairs. Beautiful waxed finish. The whole is in good condition: the seats are caned (3 seats have new canework) Beautiful purity in the lines! Each element is finely engraved: pretty linear designs with a floral evocation and associated hearts which may suggest that this set was made as a wedding gift! It was in 1871 that DG Fischel set up his bentwood furniture factory in NIEMES near the Danube to quickly become one of the leaders in his field alongside establishments Thonet, Köhn, Mundus, Haufman, etc. The elegance of its models contributes to the development of the company, regularly in the spotlight at major universal exhibitions. This magnificent living room is a rare testimony to this elegance of the last century.
