"Making of beauty within the reach of all." Such was the motto of Gabriel René. As camp began, assisted by a team of seven workers, the manufacture of decorative items for gift shops. In the 1950s, he begins to realize faience tiles and its famous tables. It of a prolific period during which he met Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Carré, realizes the headband ceramic from the maritime station of Cannes (won the gold medal in Brussels). The success of the artist is so assured. In the 1960s, he directed the ceramics which adorn the hotel Byblos in Saint-Tropez and receives, in 1970, the international grand prix for ceramics. But in 1982, a victim of a financial crisis, his factory was bought by a Parisian firm. Carpon became the brand of the latter. The artist then forget the motto of his master and turns to more exclusive, unique, sculptural pieces. Length 15 cm width 13 cm height 6 cm
