Bogolan cushion cover

Bogolan printed cotton cushion cover. In bambara language (the most used in mali) "bogo " means earth and "lan" from! The term bogolan refers to both the fabric itself and the dyeing technique "made with the earth"! Originally, each motif made on the bogolan had a strong symbolism, inspired in particular by nature or scenes of everyday life. The bogolan coins were then mainly intended for ritual use such as marriage or hunting for example.
