Sofa Sprij Furniture, Vlaardingen, Netherlands, 1950

This walnut sofa, dating from the mid-20th century, was made around 1950 by Sprij Meubelen in Vlaardingen, Netherlands. Its organic design reflects the aesthetics of the era and recalls the creations of Carlo Mollino, Campo Graffi, Ico Parisi, and Gio Ponti. The upholstered seat offers excellent comfort, enhanced by the superb walnut structure and vinyl-covered steel springs. The orange wool upholstery was redone about thirty years ago by its first owner, who is now 98 years old. A new covering is recommended and can be done upon request. The walnut structure and steel springs remain robust, and matching armchairs are also available. Dimensions: Height 90 cm, Width 200 cm, Depth 100 cm, Seat height 45 cm.
