High Enfilade by Henry Walter Klein (1919-1987) – Samcom Edition, year

Superb high sideboard in Rio rosewood, designed by Danish designer Henry Walter Klein (1919-1987) and produced by Samcom in the 1960s. Piece authenticated by an auctioneer, symbolising the link between Scandinavian design and post-war French craftsmanship. The façade, of great elegance, features four sliding doors with perfectly symmetrical rosewood veneer, showcasing rich and deep grain patterns. The interior reveals, on the left, a set of four inner drawers with original green felt bottoms of remarkable execution, and, in the centre and on the right, large storage volumes now without their original shelves. The lower part consists of a large central drawer with two integrated handles, framed by two side drawers on the left and two side drawers on the right, creating a graphic and balanced base. The sideboard rests on a tall and slender base, characteristic of modernist design, which gives it lightness and proportion. Very good overall condition: nourished wood, homogeneous satin finish, well-preserved original felt.
