Pyrenean bank table

Pyrenean table-bench (18th-19th century). Note: A multifunctional rural piece of furniture with a tilting backrest, known as a table-bench with a folding backrest, typical of peasant furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries. The backrest folds forward to rest on a leg, thus completing the bench with a table. The lower compartments, accessible via two drop-down doors, originally provided storage space for bread, linen, or everyday utensils. This solid wood piece features a beautiful old patina. Traditional joinery with dowels, without modern screws or nails. In very good condition. An authentic piece of popular furniture.
