Pair of Rondell armchairs, Sweden 1960s

Pair of chairs by erik wortz for ikea. Model launched in 1962, teak stained beech, rounded and firmly upholstered backs upholstered in green textile, firmly upholstered seats upholstered in black artificial leather. This design is further specified in the 1964 catalogue, as it is stated that the armchair could be obtained in the “extraklass” version, which meant an upholstery in black or brown imitation leather. However, the model was short-lived. It shines with its absence in the 1965 catalogue, and appears to have fallen out of the range. Dimensions: height 66, seat height 36 cm.
