Very beautiful set of Babar bar stools by Simon Pengelly for Arper. Italy 2006. Polished steel and beige plastic structure. Top part in cream white leather, ergonomic and offering real seating comfort. Rotates 360 degrees. Height 78 cm. Width 42 cm. Depth 29 cm. Very good condition. Shows some minor signs of wear. Pengelly: Born in the UK in Henley, Simon Pengelly studied at Kingston Polytechnic University and Rycotewood. At the age of eight, Simon worked in his father's workshop making furniture. It was at the end of his studies that he decided to start his career as a designer for the Conran Design Group. In 1990, the Englishman established his own design studio in London, Studio Pengelly. This studio creates designs for major English, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, and American publishing houses. His design features a harmonious blend of engineering, clean design, and a timeless soul. A few years later, he won the "Compasso d’Oro, " a highly coveted award in the design world! Subsequently, he found opportunities to work on numerous projects in product design, transport, and interior design with lighting. He notably designed the Innerlight lighting for the Italian company Foscarini: "a wall-mounted luminous sculpture suitable for both private interiors and collective contexts.".
