From the art nouveau period, this biscuit bucket, also called biscuit maker, in cut crystal and its silver metal frame from the german manufacturer würtenbergische metallwarenfabrik hallmarked wfm 1/0 as in good condition. No cracks or chips. Fine diamond-cut white crystal of organ stops surmounted by silver-plated crosses, braces and palmettes on a premium nickel silver setting. Nickel silver is an alloy of copper, zinc, nickel and sometimes lead in very small quantities. Item listed in the 1906 art nouveau catalog of domestic utensils (see photo). Height without handle 211 mm, with 263 mm X 146 mm. Weight 1030 g. For information, this former manufacturer of household, gastronomic and hotel products was founded in 1853 by daniel straub and the schweizer brothers in geislingen an der steige in germany.
