Louis XIV style writing desk, in Boulle.

Small writing desk in boulle marquetry (tortoise shell on a red and brass background) richly decorated with chiseled bronze and gilded with fine gold (acanthus leaves in the corners, antique masks, astragals). It includes 3 compartments, one of which is concave and two covered, the latter hiding the inkwells. Beautiful decor called "in return", our inkwell is mainly in gilded brass with tortoiseshell arabesques standing out from the gold background louis XIV style from the napoleon III period, circa 1850.
