(1 small marquetry piece missing + 3 small wavy pieces on the main table, see photos + a small water stain that can easily be fixed) Louis Majorelle, son of a furniture designer and manufacturer, decorator and one of the greatest furniture designers of the Art Nouveau era. Successful in producing historical revival furniture in the 1880s, it was not until the 1890s that Louis Majorelle began to create pieces inspired by nature, with flowing lines, graceful inlays of flowers and branches and harmonious, custom-made hardware. At the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900, Louis Majorelle's creations triumphed and were internationally recognized. By 1910, the designer had opened sales rooms in Nancy, Paris, Lyon and Lille.
