Antique Cévennes table in chestnut – 19th century. Authentic rustic Cévennes table made of solid chestnut, dating from the 19th century, typical of peasant furniture from the Cévennes region. A piece of local furniture with robust and sincere craftsmanship, designed for daily use and passed down through generations. The thick top, made of several joined planks, features a deep, aged patina, marked by time and use. The apron is enhanced with a central drawer adorned with geometric carved decoration, characteristic of regional rural furniture. The turned legs, connected by a low stretcher, ensure excellent stability. ⚠️ Condition. An antique piece showing signs of age consistent with its years: wear, marks, irregularities, and small old alterations. There are signs of old insect bites, as well as very old resin drips visible in some holes, common elements on old chestnut that do not affect the furniture's solidity or aesthetics. The table is sound and stable, treated with linseed oil, with no modern restoration. Please note: the height under the apron is relatively low, as is often the case with old tables; knees may touch when seated. This table could thus be ideal as a desk, side table, or wall console. 📐 Dimensions. Width: 117 cm. Depth: 71 cm. Height: 74 cm. Height under apron: 52 cm. 📸 Complete photo file available upon request. 📍 Collection in Pernes les Fontaines.
