Pierre gautier delaye: Pierre gautier-delaye, born in 1923 in paris, was an interior designer, furniture designer, graphic designer and industrial designer. Today, he is considered one of the major figures of his time, although nothing initially destined him for such a career. It was in haute-savoie, where he stayed for health reasons, that he discovered the world of interior design. By multiplying small jobs, he crossed paths with the architect rené faublée, with whom he began to work as a draftsman. This meeting marked the beginning of his vocation. He then returned to paris to join the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs. The mountains continued to play a central role in his training: his final internship was with Henry Jacques Le Même, a famous architect known for his luxurious chalets in Megève, designed for influential Parisian figures such as Baroness de Rothschild. After graduating in 1951, he was quickly recruited by the Parisian branch of Compagnie d'Estetique Industrielle, an American agency founded by the famous designer Raymond Loewy. There, he successively held the positions of designer, workshop manager and interior designer, collaborating with prestigious clients such as Air France and BHV.
