Vase made by les argonautes, a duo of french ceramicists formed by isabelle ferlay and frédérique bourguet, active in the 1960s in vallauris, an emblematic center of modern ceramics. This vase is inspired by the shape of an ocean liner and is made of glazed chamotte clay. The rich and original decoration combines stylized elements such as sails, characters and abstract patterns, encouraging reverie and personal interpretation. The color palette, composed of browns, greens and ochres, reinforces the organic aspect of the work. A lack on one side. Signed and located in hollow under the base "les argonautes, vallauris" vallauris, circa 1960.
