This magnificent earthenware trivet with a beautiful enamel depicting a flower in very pretty pastel colors is absolutely typical of art nouveau. It dates from the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. On the back, in addition to four small feet, it has a stamp in slight relief that I could not identify as well as the letter d in the hand which is probably the signature of the artist who created the decoration. It is solid because it is very thick and will still be able to receive dishes on your table for decades, but we can also imagine it displayed in a display case or even on the wall (but it will have to be hung securely because it is quite heavy). It is in good general condition, no cracks, but obviously it shows signs that testify to its good hundred years: a relatively large chip (about 10mm by 8mm) on the enamel at one corner and some other small, barely visible chips, scratches and abrasions (less shiny enamel) on the khaki green background and some stains mainly on the back. It measures 20.5 cm in width and 2.5 cm in thickness (including the small “feet”).
