Discover this remarkable pair of wall lights by Degué, emblematic of the French Art Deco style of the 1930s. Mounted on a wrought iron structure evoking the fluidity of a spray, these wall lights are delicately adorned with finely chiseled gingko leaves. In the center, a molded pressed glass element, representing a basket of flowers, enhances the whole with refinement. The base, nestled in the heart of the forged structure, recalls the braiding of a basket, topped with stylized roses in the spirit of Mackintosh. The convex curvature of the glass diffuses the light both forward and to the sides, providing wall lighting that is both soft and enveloping. Combining the timeless elegance of classical art with the industrial modernity of Art Deco, this pair of wall lights is a masterpiece of aesthetics and craftsmanship. Condition: Very good, carefully restored. The wrought iron frames have been stripped, treated and patinated to reveal their original splendor. The electrification has been completely redone. Dimensions: Height: 40 cm Width: 40 cm Depth: 16 cm An exceptional piece to enhance a refined interior. David Guéron (1892-1950), a glass artist of Turkish origin and Spanish nationality, is a singular figure of the Art Deco movement in France. He is mainly known as the founder of the Verrerie d'Art Degué, active in Paris from 1926 to 1939. Today, objects signed Degué are sought after by collectors and lovers of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Their heritage value lies in their artistic quality, but also in their inclusion in an era of great creativity and competition between French glassmakers.
