René Gabriel sideboard with compass legs, 1945/50

René Gabriel Buffet 1945/50 Compass Legs. Magnificent René Gabriel oak sideboard, a piece often referred to as "disaster relief furniture, " dating from post-war reconstruction (1945/1950). In very good vintage condition. A sound, stable, and solid piece. The piece has been restored, retaining its beautiful original patina and finished with a matte, colorless oil. The drawers slide smoothly and are lined with a geometric fabric. The doors have their original hardware and two Art Deco keys. Please note that all vintage furniture pieces may show minor imperfections and flaws despite careful restoration. Any major defects are noted in my listings. Note that old, unoccupied woodworm holes are present (see photos). Also note that a faulty screw has been replaced (see photo).
