Antique Bistro Table – Cast Iron Base & Rare Elm Top A superb 19th-century bistro table with an elegant cast iron base featuring a floral motif and antique patina. The top has been remade from a single solid plank of elm, a noble wood now almost impossible to find, prized for its spectacular grain and strength. It can be varnished, waxed, or oiled according to your taste. Elm (or field elm) is now almost impossible to find, as elm trees were decimated in Europe by Dutch elm disease in the 20th century. It is a very hard, springy wood with a magnificent grain, which was widely used in cabinetmaking until the 1950s. Dimensions: Height: approx. 70 cm Top: 100 cm x 55 cm Condition: Beautiful, stable, and solid piece with an authentic patina on the cast iron. The tabletop is in excellent condition with a unique grain pattern. ✨ A rare and elegant piece, ideal as a kitchen table, side table, or statement piece in a vintage, industrial, or country chic interior.
