Pair of child-sized gondola armchairs in Empire style made of cherry wood, resting on saber legs at the back and slightly curved front legs. The curved backs with ears end in fine scrolls characteristic of the neoclassical aesthetic of the First Empire. The console armrests provide a harmonious and balanced line. The upholstery has been redone in a fabric with wide red and ivory stripes, decorated with laurel wreaths and patterns inspired by imperial iconography. The finish is highlighted by a scattering of patinated upholstery nails. These armchairs feature elegant proportions and appreciable comfort, suitable as extra seating or around a desk or in a reception room. Empire style work, 20th century. Dimensions: Height: 74 cm.
