Exceptional, large, and very rare sommerso glass vase made by the Barbini Murano workshop. Barbini refers to Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), an Italian master glassmaker and emblematic figure of Murano glass art. His workshop, Vetreria Alfredo Barbini, became one of the most renowned on the island for the exceptional quality of its blown glass creations. He is one of Murano's most celebrated glassmakers. Barbini is considered one of the 20th-century glass masters, on par with Seguso, Venini, or Barovier & Toso. Foundation of his glassworks: In 1950, he established his own factory: Vetreria Alfredo Barbini, where he developed his personal style and characteristic techniques.
