Iconic scandinavian chairs. Entirely re-lacquered examples from the 1970s. The ch 24 chair, or "wishbone chair, " is hans wegner's best-known creation. The wishbone chair takes its name from the "y" in its backrest, shaped like a chicken breastbone, or "happy bone." wegner drew inspiration for its design from the ming chairs on which chinese merchants were photographed. Wegner's wishbone chair is synonymous with solidity and comfort. It has become the timeless symbol of scandinavian design. Since its creation in 1950, it has been produced by the same manufacturer, carl hansen, in his workshops in denmark. The assembly and finishing are entirely handmade. Designer: hans wegner.
