This lithograph, “The Magic of the Hours - Dawn,” is signed Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the lower right corner. The work is authentic and antique. Regarding its condition, there is a slight crease in the right margin and an indentation in the middle of the top margin. There are also small stains in the margin and on the lithograph itself. The lithograph is very fresh in color; once framed, most of the imperfections will be barely noticeable. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career in drawing, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Simultaneously, in 1886, he embarked on a career as a director and set designer, creating shadow puppet shows at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing them with innovative, colorful sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
