Set of deep plates Digoin Sarreguemines model Cibon

A pair of deep plates in Digoin Sarreguemines earthenware, Cibon model from the 1940s-50s, decorated with a stencilled motif of red roses enhanced by a wide graduated burgundy geometric border. The decoration, whose name appears discreetly at the centre of each plate beneath the bouquet of roses, combines a generous floral motif with a burgundy geometric border that has almost Art Deco accents. This signature integrated into the decoration is an original detail that is rarely noticed. Stamped Digoin Sarreguemines. In beautiful vintage condition, with slight signs of use and fine cutlery marks consistent with the age of the pieces, a chip on each plate, one on the border, and one underneath the border (see photos). Diameter 22.5 cm, height 3 cm. The deep red of the roses interacts with an elegant and timeless geometry.
