Description
Green cloud - andré goffin - 1975. Oil on canvas signed and dated on the back of the painting. Oil painting from 1975, with small spots and small reliefs, visible in the photos. André goffin studied at the academies of fine arts in namur (for drawing) and brussels (1946-1951) (for painting, with anto carte). He received the anto carte prize in 1968 and organized his first solo exhibition. In 1973, he participated in the foundation of the art concret group with jean dubois, francis dusépulchre, victor noël, michel renard and marcel-henri verdren. These artists resolutely engage in a constructed abstraction made of strict solids and arrangements of geometric shapes. Shots of frank and joyful colors, sometimes surrounded by black or animated by a few bisectors, respond to a very thoughtful formal balance while evoking the syncopations of modern life. About andré goffin, a master in the use of acrylic, jean pigeon speaks of a surveyor of ice, fire, ecology, rhythms, ideographic emblems; highlighting how much; its thematic variations, its articulations of forms that can reverberate from one canvas to another, respond each time to a specific project and gain in brilliance, serenity, and carefully meditated beauty. From 1977, he taught painting at the academy of arts of woluwe-saint-pierre in brussels. He also participated in the decoration of the charleroi metro.
