1930 art deco pedestal lamp in red copper and bronze patina designed by Georges Halais. With his company, Georges Halais, incorporated on January 1, 1933, is the inventor of modern lighting with, as its first application, the lighting by light strips of some 2,000 meters of passageways of the Normandy liner which was, at at the time, the largest liner in the world. For the interior decoration of the Normandie, we called on Georges Halais, a specialist in stainless steel, who supplies more than 50,000 kg, in very diverse forms: equipment for the 300 bathrooms, door handles, metal parts of the luxury and luxury apartments4. This is the first large-scale use of stainless steel for the decoration of a liner, after the timid experiments carried out on the Colombia, then on the Champlain. In good working condition with its used & original patina. Perfectly stable with its cast iron foot. Dimensions height 127 cm diameter 36 cm.
