Description
Wash, watercolor in shades of black and white representing a dizzying detail of the road to Combe-Laval, in the Drôme. Framed with Marie-Louise and old frame found in India. The work of an amateur, which can be seen in the application put into the representation of the subject. Around the 50s/60s. Note the title at the bottom right in Gothic characters and the scalloped edges. A Chas Adams side, the inventor of the Adams family, who made numerous drawings for the New Yorker, including quite a few on the theme of the husband trying to get rid of his wife in this type of landscape. Dimensions framed 29x34 cm, dimensions of the drawing alone: 10x17.5 cm.
