Description
This two-body solid cherry sideboard opens in the lower part with two belted ogee drawers with brass button and two doors with doweled miter cut frames. These doors are decorated with an ogee molding in the center with amaranth net and equipped with a functional original lock with amaranth entries and key. The right-angled uprights are highlighted with identical fillets. The whole rests on a relief plinth with groove ending in shoe feet. The interior offers a fixed shelf. The upper part of this piece of furniture, also opening with two doors, is crafted in the same spirit. Open, these doors give access to three adjustable shelves mounted on racks. This piece of furniture is topped with a very discreet ogee cornice. The sides are doweled frame. With a large storage capacity, this two-body sideboard stands out for its dimension, more precisely its shallow depth, and the warm color of its cherry wood. ******** period: mid-19th century excellent condition.
