Portrait of a gentleman signed and dated 1907

Very nice framed portrait; oil on canvas depicting the portrait of a gentleman with a well-trimmed mustache, in a suit and white bow tie with a blue, white and red badge. He exudes a mischievous and serious look at the same time, thanks to the artist who knew how to bring out his expressions by the play of light. The painting is signed lower right h mouthier and dated 1907: hippolyte mouthier (1880-1975) is a painter specializing in landscape painting and still life, much more rarely portraits. This painting is framed in a magnificent molded frame, carved with foliage, acanthus leaves and stylized friezes. Condition: the paint is in perfect condition. As for the frame it has small gaps of gilding in a corner (not visible hung.
