Description
Red copper ingot from katanga in the shape of the profile of a woman wearing a traditional hairstyle of the women of the mangbetu tribe of congo. Comes from a succession of former belgian settlers in the belgian congo and served as a paperweight. The mangbetu are a people of central africa present in the northeast of the democratic republic of congo. They are a nilo-sudanese tribe, originally from ancient nubia (egypt-sudan) famous for their sugarloaf cranial deformations and funnel-shaped hairstyles. I measured 13.2 X 16.2 X 3.2 cm for a weight of 1927 g. Fast, careful and secure shipping specific packaging and insurance included in the delivery price.
