Reverie. Size: 44 X 36cm. Oil on board. This modernist style painting strikes a fine balance between realism and abstraction. We see a calming and dreamy riverscape on the one hand, but the combination of bold lines, subjective use of colour and distinct forms and shapes adds an element of abstraction to the piece. We’re unable to tie the landscape to any particular place or moment in time, which lends a sense of mystery to the piece. It allows us to let our minds wander, transporting us to a distant place faraway, away from the stresses of everyday life. The post-impressionist elements of this painting would make it a good fit for a contemporary interior. This oil on board comes unframed, and has minor surface marks on the edges that would be easily hidden by a frame. Size: 44 X 36cm.
