Description
Beautiful neoclassical style indoor planter in black lacquered wood and hand-painted gilding threads. Around 1960. Stamped m. Hirch under the crosspiece. Maurice Hirsch was a renowned decorator in the 60s/70s. Crotch shelf, draped handles in gilded bronze, moldings of the sheaths and tips of the feet in gilded brass. The interior zinc tray is missing. The planter has been completely re-lacquered and the bronzes and brass cleaned and polished. Very good state.
