Painting "The Little Sailor" signed Jean Bauman

Oil on wood signed jean bauman, representing in an impressionist style à la manet, a little sailor whose youthful presence is accentuated by an unusual cut framing and a dark background. The painting dates from the 1930s. The large golden marie louis frame in garnet velvet appears to be later than the work which is signed on the back. There are traces of wear.
